Trimaran

A trimaran is a multihull-yacht with three hulls. The central hull is the largest one. The other two provide stability.

This type of yacht is the best alternative to a classic catamaran, as it is offering additional speed and sportiness. Above all, several world records have been established on such a yacht. For example the fastest cruise around the world or the fastest overcoming of the Atlantic Ocean was done with a trimaran.

Hydroptére is the fastest trimaran in the world (as of 2009), which can reach speeds greater than 100 km / h.
