The Italian mainland regions of Campania & Lazio, both on the Tyrrhenian Sea, are characterized by the typical Mediterranean climate with slightly temperature fluctuations. This fact and the constant wind conditions ensure ideal sailing weather from March to November. The thermal sea breeze near the coast during the day is comparatively more distinctive in the north of the Tyrrhenian Sea than in the south.
Traveling along the mainland coast of Campania & Lazio during summer months, you will usually find on your luxury sailing trip light winds from southwest to southeast. This ensures smoothly, pleasant sailing conditions. The commonly prevailing wind direction is a north or northwest wind.
Within the five nature reserves there are special navigational indications to be considered, but they are definitely worth a detour: Secche the Paterno Gate, the Sorrento Peninsula, Ventotene, Gaiola and Baia.
