The Island of Skiathos impresses every visitor with its beautiful beaches, which include, among others, the Laleria beach: the steep cliffs falling into the sea and the white pebble beach in combination with the crystal-clear water will impress you. Another notable beach is the Koukounaries, which is famous for its golden, seemingly endless sandy beach and the beautiful pine forest landscape. If you visit the town of Hora on Skiathos, you will be fascinated by the red roof sea of the houses, which form an impressive scenery in combination with the white house facades. On a small island, called Bourtzi, which is located in front of the old town, you will also discover the remains of a Venetian fortress that was already built in the 13th century. Papadiamanti Street is the meeting point of every night owl who is going out in Hora: countless taverns, boutiques, good restaurants and bars are awaiting you!
Another highlight is a visit to the Kastro’s, a castle that already protected the island from pirate attacks in the 14th century. This castle is located in the northern part of the island and has a mystical attraction for visitors. In two churches, you will also find relics from the past centuries from this region of the Aegean.
