Below we present you the most beautiful areas, starting with the southernmost island of the Ionian Islands: Zakynthos.
Zakynthos: Because of optimal wind and weather conditions during the summer months, the whole island is a pure sailing paradise. In the spacious Port of Zakynthos, you will find a marina with several piers, where all kinds of services are offered to sailing and motor yachts. Luxury yachts of up to 60m in length and 8m in draft can moor here unhindered. The city of Zakynthos also offers its visitors plenty of culture and you will find beautiful sandy beaches with cobalt-blue, clean sea areas immediately adjacent. One of the countless beaches of Zakynthos is the world famous Smugglers Bay, where a shipwreck perfectly fits into the impressive backdrop. The sandy sea bottom here enables your luxury yacht to have good anchorage conditions. Also worth seeing are the Blue Grottoes, which are only accessible by boat as well. The best way to do this is to anchor in Agios Nikolaos and take your dinghy across to the Blue Grottoes, which stretch from Agios Nikolaos to the Skinari Cape. The Blue Grottoes owe their name to the prevailing water reflections. Be aware that cold underwater springs can occur when you take a bath! The island of Zakynthos is also known for the rare sea turtles of the genus "Caretta-Caretta", which can be observed with a little luck. This species, also called "loggerhead turtle", you can find especially on the southern beaches of Zakynthos, where it comes ashore to lay its eggs.
