The main town of the island of Syros is on two heights, which appear quite different from one another. On the one hand, Ermoupoli (the "Hermes’ City ") impresses with its stately and princely character. It was built extremely pompously in the 19th century. Stroll in the beautiful main square, where you will discover a magnificent town hall and enjoy a wonderful view from the Orthodox Church above Ermoupoli. On the other hand, Ano Syros (Upper Syros) is a typical Cycladic village, which has simple, white houses and many Catholic monasteries and churches to visit. The monastery and the cathedral of St. George were already built in the Renaissance. Enjoy the incomparable atmosphere while strolling through one of the countless narrow streets in Ano Syros, where you will hear the typical sounds of Bouzouki music by Vamvakaris. On the nearby beach of Ermoupolis you can linger and you will find all kinds of infrastructure, including countless cafes, bars, taverns and restaurants. There is also a casino dating back to 1830 and at the end of the coastal promenade you will discover old warehouses and an imposing customs house from the 19th century! If you are looking for beautiful beaches, remember the following names: Galissas, Dellagratsia, Delfini, Kini and Finikas. Here you will also see wonderful holiday villas of the former elites.

Paros Island: The small port of Naoussa, which once was a pirate stronghold, should not be missing when you go ashore. There is an exuberant atmosphere here with loud music, both among visitors and locals. If you prefer to take it easy, visit the mountain villages of Lefkes, Prodromos and Marpissa. Marpissa, a small village that dates back to the 16th century, impresses with its traditional windmills and churches!
