On your luxury charter in the coastal region od Split you should definitely visit the following islands and regions: the island of Brač, Hvar, the Pakleni Islands, Biševo (blue cave), Šolta, Vis and the coastal region of Makarska.
The island of Brač, which is the closest to Split, is the third largest island on the Adriatic Sea. With the mountain "Vidova Gora", which is 778 meters high, there is also the highest elevation of all Croatian islands. From this peak you have an impressive view over a large part of this coastline and the surrounding islands. The sides of Vidova Gora are completely different: in the southern part its rocks drop steeply into the sea, while in the north it gradually drops as a karst plateau. This plateau is mostly covered with Mediterranean scrub and dry grassland. Those who have some time and feel like hiking should not miss it. The climbing to the top can be mastered on one hand over an asphalt road that starts at the plateau Knezevravan near Nerezisca. If somebody wants to climb from Bol, it is a lot more attractive, but also, on the other side more exhausting, as many altitude meters have to be overcome in a short distance. The hiking trails are well marked and easy to find. The trail begins in the village of Bol, near the church of Our Holy Lady of Carmel (Gospe od Karmela). Once you reach the highest peak of Brač, a 12-metre-high white stone cross and the tavern "Vladimir Nazor" will be waiting for you.
One of the highlights of Brač is the pebbly beach "Zlatni rat" near the town of Bol, which is famous for its long, tongued shape and is one of the most important coastal attractions in Croatia ("Golden Horn").
Another highlight that gained worldwide fame is the high-quality Brac marble, which has been shipped all over the world for centuries. It was used to build the White House in Washington, the Diocletian Palace in Split, several Venetian palaces, the new Imperial palace in Vienna, the Berlin Parliament, the Budapest Parliament and many other famous buildings. The quarries are located on the northern coast nearby the town of Pučišća, where today a new generation of stonemasons is being trained in this skill.
A bit more to the west on the northern coast is the well-known and large sandy beach Lovrečina, which is located between Postira and Pučišća and can be used for a short stopover.
If you visit Brač, you should also taste its great repertoire of vines, for example, the “Plavac” and the many delicious cheese and lamb specialties!
