An excellent starting point for your sea travel in the region of Sibenik is marina Mandalina, which is one of the few Croatian marinas, that can accommodate mega and super yachts up to 140 meters. This marina is located not far away from the old town of Šibenik (about 3 km southeast), whereby it offers a tour to the most important highlights of this medieval and very well-preserved old town on the day of your arrival or departure.
The cathedral St. Jakob is one of the symbols and probably the most important building in Šibenik. This unique monument, which was built over 100 years until its final completion, impresses with its religious architecture in the gothic and renaissance style. Since 2000, St. Jakob has also been an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The St. Mihovil fortress, which was already built during the creation of Šibenik, sits on a hill about 60 metres above sea level and has a special meaning from historical-cultural perspective for the Šibenik region, because of establishing a summer stage for over a thousand guests. The crystal-clear waters of the region and the many islands and reefs, which can be discovered in this region, will also impress you.
The northwest located neighbour island Prvic, which is not far away from the well-known small tourist city Vodice, which is covered with vineyards and olive groves and has picturesque bays that invite you to linger.
The most western island of the Šibenik-Knin County in the direction of the open sea is the long island of Žirje. This island, crossed by two ranges of hills, is mainly overgrown with maquis. If you would like to make a short stopover for a swim on the south-west side of the island during your luxury charter, we recommend that you moor in the well-developed buoy field near Stupica, where you will also be spoiled with fresh fish and seafood dishes in the Konoba Stupica. A short hike to the nearby hill is also worthwhile, here you will find the remains of a Byzantine fortress, which was already built by the emperor Justinian I in the 6th century. From this ruin "Gradina" you have a wonderful view of the bay and the surrounding sea region.

Maestrale (also called Maestral) - This wind should not be confused with the "Mistral" of the Rhone valley in France, which is extremely unpredictable! Maestrale, on the other hand, is typical and common fair-weather wind that will often guide you during the yacht charter in Croatia. It starts in the late morning and lasts until the evening, mostly with wind forces up to 4 Beaufort. Deep blue sky, rare clouds, sailor courage! What else do you need? Maestrale is a thermal wind and it forms due to faster air heating on land than at sea. Therefore, the air flows over the land, blowing in the lower layers from the sea to land, and in the upper area, it blows back into the sea. This creates the perfect wind dynamics for sailors, which lasts from 10 to 18 o'clock. The opposite effect is often observed during the night in a less intense form: Burin, a night wind, caused by faster cooling of the land mass by the sea.
Jugo - This is where the weather gets worse, it blows from the southeast. First, there is a harsh weather, followed by the rain and the strong wind, which develops a force up to 7 Beaufort. It takes a day or two, then it ceases. However, in autumn and spring, it can also blow stronger and longer, so it should not be underestimated.
Bora - This wind (female) is dangerous, but fortunately quite rare. Bora blows from the northeast and comes with the proverbial clear sky! It is not uncommon that the wind speed rises up to 9 Beaufort on the mainland. This is caused by a large difference in the air pressure between the water and the mountains. It usually only lasts one day, then it is over and the wind is moderate again.
