The coastal region of the Kornati islands, which belongs to the Dalmatia - Šibenik region, is particularly impressive because of the Kornati islands along the coast, which has also acquired a protected status in the Kornati National Park. The entire Kornati archipelago stretches along the Croatian coast between Zadar in the north and Šibenik in the south.
The Kornati, which are located in the northern part of Dalmatia, have almost 200 islands, where 89 of them are reefs. Because of species-rich plants and animals, the uniqueness and beauty, the Kornati have been appointed 1980 to the sea-national park of Kornati. Despite a large number of islands, the national park area stretches over ¾ of watershed over a maritime ecosystem.
