The best way to start exploring the Istrian coast is in the provincial capital of Pula, which is the largest city in Istria with about 50,000 inhabitants. Here you will also find the largest marinas of the peninsula (ACI marina Pula, Marina Veruda), which is why this location would be an excellent starting point for your luxury charter. The accessibility (Pula airport and good transport links for private transport) is guaranteed. Located in the middle of many Croatian shipping routes, this city is an important landmark with its ancient Roman amphitheater, which has been very well preserved. A visit to the old town with its Venetian and imperial and royal charm would also be recommended!
If the weather and sea conditions are good, you should definitely explore the west coast of Istria with your luxury yacht, which awaits you with numerous small islands, lagoons and picturesque villages. The archipelago offshore Rovinj, with at least 22 islands and islets, is one of the most attractive island oases in the northern Adriatic. On a shore leave, you should make a detour to the old town of Rovinj, which is waiting for its visitors in its narrow, small alleys with numerous shops and restaurants. The church of Rovinj is named after the patron saint of the town, St. Euphemia. It is situated at the highest point of the peninsula and offers a beautiful view over the town and the island world. In Rovinj you should plan an overnight stay during your cruise, as the brand new ACI Marina Rovinj also offers its guests every comfort and has been designed for luxury yachts.
One of the most beautiful Istrian natural attractions is the nearby Lim Fjord. Unfortunately, this fjord is not individually navigable with your luxury yacht, for this you would have to switch to one of the excursion boats, which offer day trips from Rovinj. The fairytale landscape and the steep green slopes, which resemble a fjord, are worth a visit.
If your course takes you further north, you will reach one of the elite marinas in the Adriatic (Marina Nautica Novigrad) and the pretty town of Novigrad. The colourful stone houses and the flair of this former fishing village invite you to linger. In bad weather, this ancient town can also serve as an excellent starting point for exploring the many sights in the interior of the Istrian peninsula.
